Cartridge Patching & Translation Service

If you're unhandy with a soldering iron or don't have the equipment necessary to program cartridge memory, I offer a professional cartridge translation and patching service for supported Famicom and Super Famicom titles.

This service is intended only for original physical game cartridges lawfully owned by the customer. I retrieve the game data directly from the customer's original cartridge, apply the customer-selected compatible patch, program the required replacement memory device(s), and install the completed module into that same cartridge.

This is not a ROM-distribution or piracy service. I do not provide, download, accept, install, or work from unauthorized copies of commercial games. I do not accept customer-supplied ROM files, game images, archives, or other digital copies of copyrighted games as the source material for this service.

The original cartridge submitted by the customer is the source from which the game data is obtained for the service.

Compatibility

Many original Famicom and Super Famicom cartridges are compatible with this service, but compatibility depends on the cartridge hardware, memory configuration, mapper, patch requirements, and other technical factors.

If a submitted cartridge or requested patch is incompatible with the service, I may reject the order or return the cartridge without performing the modification. Applicable inspection, handling, or return-shipping charges may apply as provided in the site's Terms & Conditions.

Clone, reproduction, bootleg, counterfeit, multicart, flash cartridge, and otherwise unauthorized reproduction cartridges are not supported unless expressly approved in advance.

Copyright and Authorized Use

This service is performed only on original physical cartridges submitted by the customer. The game data used during the service is dumped directly from the customer's own cartridge.

I do not supply commercial game ROMs, copyrighted game images, ISOs, ROM collections, BIOS files, or unauthorized copies of games.

I will not accept a customer-supplied ROM file or other unauthorized digital game copy as a substitute for the customer's original cartridge.

The customer must provide the original physical cartridge that will be modified.

The customer is responsible for selecting and providing the location of any patch requested for installation. I do not create, distribute, host, or provide translation patches unless expressly stated otherwise.

The customer represents that they have the lawful right to possess the cartridge submitted for service and to request the modification being performed.

I do not provide instructions, technical support, links, or assistance for locating pirated game copies, downloading copyrighted games from unauthorized sources, creating unauthorized ROM collections, or reproducing commercial games without authorization.

The temporary creation of cartridge data during the service is performed solely as part of the customer's requested modification of that customer's original physical cartridge. No commercial game ROM is supplied to the customer as a separate product or download.

Nothing about this service should be interpreted as authorization or encouragement to download, reproduce, distribute, sell, or otherwise use copyrighted software in violation of applicable law or the rights of the copyright owner.

How To Order

• Enter the game title into the "Enter the game title" field.

• Enter the URL for the requested patch into the "Enter URL patch" field. The patch must be compatible with the original cartridge submitted for service.

• Add the service to your cart and select the options that you want. Select "Pay Later - Installation Service" at the payment screen during checkout.

• Once checkout is complete, your service order will be submitted to me. When I am ready to receive your cartridge, I will respond via E-Mail with shipping instructions.

• Do not ship your cartridge until shipping instructions have been provided.

• Ensure that your cartridge works properly before shipment and package it carefully.

• Send only the original cartridge or cartridges associated with the order. Do not include consoles, controllers, cables, boxes, manuals, inserts, or unrelated items unless specifically requested.

• Write your order number clearly on the shipping box. I must be able to identify your property once it arrives.

• Do NOT send your package using Signature Confirmation unless I specifically approve it in advance. If special arrangements are required to retrieve or sign for a package, an additional $20 handling charge may apply.

• The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges, including optional insurance, signature service, expedited delivery, or other requested carrier services.

• Once the work is complete, your invoice will be updated to include the cost of return shipping and any other previously authorized charges. Tracking information will be provided after payment and shipment.

Service Commitment and Cancellation

Once your cartridge has been shipped or delivered to me for service, the service order is considered committed and non-cancellable as provided in the site's Terms & Conditions.

By shipping your cartridge, you authorize the inspection, testing, disassembly, data extraction, programming, modification, soldering, battery replacement, cleaning, and reassembly reasonably necessary to perform the service selected in your order.

Once the cartridge has been shipped for service, the order may not be cancelled merely because you change your mind, no longer desire the translation or patch, or because the estimated turnaround period has been exceeded.

Nothing in this section is intended to restrict any right or remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

Turn-Around Time

I will not sacrifice the quality of my services for a break-neck turn-around time. Under normal operating conditions, the estimated turnaround time for this service is 7-10 business days after the cartridge has been received and entered into the service queue. Many orders are completed sooner.

All turnaround times are estimates only and are not guaranteed completion dates. Turnaround may be extended due to workload, unusually high order volume, illness or medical emergency, staffing limitations, parts availability, supplier delays, patch compatibility problems, technical complications, undisclosed cartridge faults, equipment condition, shipping delays, or other circumstances that reasonably affect normal business operations.

The estimated turnaround period is not a "time is of the essence" contractual deadline. A delay beyond the estimated turnaround period does not, by itself, cancel the service order or create a right to cancellation or refund, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

I will make reasonable efforts to complete all accepted service orders as promptly as possible while maintaining the quality of the work.

If a condition is discovered that materially changes the scope of the requested service or requires additional customer authorization, reasonable efforts will be made to contact you through the designated support system.

Payment and Return Shipping

Payment for this service is not due when the cartridge is initially submitted. Once the authorized work has been completed, your invoice will be updated to include the service charge, applicable return shipping, and any other charges previously authorized.

The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges. Return shipping is not included in the advertised service price unless expressly stated otherwise.

Payment must be completed before the finished cartridge is returned. Completed customer property may be retained until authorized service charges and applicable shipping charges have been paid, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Communication

For questions or support regarding an existing order, please use the integrated ticketing system.

The ticketing system is the designated support channel because it allows your communication to be associated with the correct customer, order, and cartridge.

Messages sent through social media, Discord, YouTube, forums, private messages, unrelated E-Mail accounts, or other unofficial channels may be missed and should not be relied upon for order support.

If the ticketing system appears to be unavailable or malfunctioning, please use another contact method published on the website to alert me to the problem.

After Sales Support

Famicom and Super Famicom cartridges are vintage electronic hardware, and I cannot guarantee the continuing reliability of unrelated original cartridge components.

I do, however, stand behind the workmanship of the modification, programming, and installation service that I perform.

If you need support relating to work I performed, please submit a support ticket.

I am not responsible for problems caused by unrelated aging hardware, pre-existing faults, third-party modifications, customer modifications, counterfeit cartridges, incompatible patches, failing original memory devices, damaged cartridge boards, improper use, or other conditions outside the scope of the service I performed, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.

Disclaimer

I strongly recommend that you do not drop-ship cartridges directly to me from eBay or any other third-party seller. You should personally receive, inspect, and test the cartridge before submitting it for service.

I cannot verify representations made by a third-party seller regarding the condition, functionality, completeness, authenticity, originality, compatibility, or repair history of a cartridge that has been shipped directly to me.

Only send the original cartridge or cartridges and any items specifically requested for this service. Do not include consoles, games unrelated to the order, controllers, cables, boxes, manuals, inserts, accessories, or unrelated property unless specifically instructed to do so. Responsibility for unsolicited or unnecessary items cannot be guaranteed.

The customer is responsible for accurately representing the condition and authenticity of the cartridge before shipment. Cartridges received with undisclosed faults, previous modifications, corrosion, physical damage, missing components, counterfeit boards, improper prior repairs, incompatible hardware, or other conditions outside the scope of the ordered service may require additional inspection, labor, parts, or handling charges as permitted by the applicable service terms.

These cartridges are vintage electronic equipment. Original components may fail because of age, deterioration, corrosion, prior repairs, battery leakage, manufacturing defects, electrical stress, or other conditions unrelated to the service performed.

I do not guarantee the future reliability or continued operation of original cartridge hardware or components that are outside the scope of the work performed.

Any warranty provided by me applies only to my workmanship and any hardware specifically supplied or installed by me, as described in the applicable service or warranty terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I am not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from service delays, loss of use, save-data loss, third-party patch incompatibility, original-hardware failure, or failures unrelated to the work performed.

This service page is subject to the site's Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict between these service-specific terms and the general Terms & Conditions, the service-specific terms will control with respect to this service only, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
